driveshaft question

    would is the cost of having one balanced i made my owen and is not balanced turnd corner had stepped on gas and had bad shaking

    I generally pay about $ 200 if they have to supply everything. If they are just cutting one down it is less. Well worth it IMO.

    In addition to balance, you have to have it phased properly so both U joints are perfectly in line.

    If you are in the midwest, I've had several shortened and balanced by Inland Truck. I just called them and checked and the price to shorten and balance is $110, balance alone is $90.

    Bad vibration when on the gas can be phasing as Squirrel mentions....

    $215 from inland truck for 100% new, you supply the slip yoke. Now, define bad shaking, like wheel hop? do you have lowering blocks? Is the pinion angle correct?
     
  7. I just had a new driveshaft made for my 48 Chrysler...Chevy 400, TH350, stock rear....all new u joints, high speed balance...$375.00 cash....today !!

    The d'shaft for my 40 was $210, and well worth it.
