Looks and sounds great !!..congrats !!

  3. Thank you all for the kind words.

After Thanksgiving dinner today, I shared the videos with some of my extended family. My mother was very impressed, I'd even say she was proud of me. She grew up with her father and brother racing boats, so she understands the relationship that men have with their mechanical things.

My mother-in-law wanted to know why the tires were bigger in the back than in the front. I just told her it was supposed to be that way. She also asked when I was going to put the fenders back on. I didn't answer that one.;)

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

  4. Glad your real family likes your car as much as your "online" family!
    Happy Thanksgiving to you guys!

Awsone, glad you got to take it for a spin.

Id check into the motor a little bit more before you go changing the fan stuff, whats your timing set at? if its just a bit retared it can make a huge difference on heating, and if the main jets are a little lean, ive had many set ups with the fan in the same location as yours and no problems at all.

Looks great, i still picure it red so its funny to see it blue!

Very, Very cool, Dave!! Somehow I missed this back in November, but I did just see some photos on Facebook from David Bradley and your most recent videos on here.

Has to be a GREAT feeling to have it on the road and driving. I'm very happy for you!

  15. Bummer. No, I didn't notice that. I guess that's what I have to look forward to with my $300 swap meet motor! Ha!

Hmmm. Now I see it. Shitty. Sorry Dave.

I just know him from here -- added him when he posted some photos a while back... seems like he may have linked them from Facebook or something?

Cool car, Dave. Looks great going down the road. The rebuild on that 283 should definitely be under $10,000. :D

Forged crank? Always an upgrade! You've got most of the necessary gear, so it shouldn't run a bundle, just find the right shop if it needs any additional machining.
Looks great w/the wind at her back!

Sorry to hear about the motor, but that is fixable.

Very cool first drive Dave. I know you worked hard for this!

    Dave,
Sorry about the smoke. Your car looked great in the Showplace parking lot Saturday. A lot of nice cars (more my style) outside. Good luck with the motor (bet you can still make to Williamsburg with it....just take Rt 60 (more fun anyway)).

    Dave,
Ya done good...real good buddy. You put a lot of work into the little Vicky and made her your own. Nice to see the both of you rolling down the highway.
