Looking for some help! Want to install a 3" - over stock dropped axel on my 34 Ford pick up. Would like to bend the steering arms up - and run tie rod over radius rod. Has any body tried this? Looking forward to your info. or opinions. Thanks, Scotty:confused:

Ive got a 32 truck, and Im running the steering arms over the wishbone, with a Chassis engineering forged dropped axle and 39 stub axles, they only needed to bend up maybe an inch, then you re-taper the tierod holes from the other side so the tierod goes in from the top. this Trick is only a good idea if you have a fairly high arch spring, and then use a bump stop so the tierod tube cant get crushed between the fame and the wishbone .

I did exactly what lowsquire described on my Model A PU that is using a '34 front axle and (split) bones. I had to trim the back edge of my crossmember so the tie rod wouldn't hit it. You will probably have to do the same on your '34 crossmember.

I put together a front end for a friend of mine (34 rpu) with a stock wish bone and a 3’’ dropped axle. He wanted the tie rod under. I had to get the longest steering arms they sell and still had to bend them down about a half inch.
If your planning on running split bones, keep in mind different years of bones have different (up &down) offsets in relation to the axle that can give you more tie rod clearance.
