I have a 1962 Fairlane 4 door that I have used cpp tubular upper and lower control arms and I have cut 1.5 coils off. It sits low and I like the look but the ride is horrible. I have considered doing bags but I dont know if i want them. I want my car to be low and drive it low too but decent ride. I am leaning towards coil overs and drop spindles. The drop spinles are seemed to be a challenge to find the correct parts. Any thoughts help and direction would be greatly appreciated.

What makes the ride horrible? Hitting the bump stops? Too stiff before it hits the bump stops?

Low profile tires don’t help soften the ride any.

Personally I’d find a softer spring. Might take finding someone who can measure the rate of your current spring and custom build a new pair.

Be aware if it’s softer and you still have a short distance to hitting the bump stops, you will just get there faster.

Having those “fork lift” tires will never ever give you any type of a good ride…. They have no sidewall.. put on some 15” wheels with some sidewall.

I'll second the low profile tires riding very rough.

but I’ve ridden in lots of low profile tire rides that have a great ride.

Try struts and get rid of the OEM style springs, they replace everything above the upper control arm. Street Freaks makes what you need.
