I'm building a Model A Sedan with a 32 grille the dropped headlight bar needs to be bent to clear the grille, How have you guys done this? any Suggestions?
make a fixture to hold the ends of headlight bar exactly where they need to be and not move. then cut, weld , heat or bend as needed
I've only found one of them in the past 40 years, wouldn't want the 33-34 pickup guys looking for me after I bend up one of them.
Has no one else ran into this? I think building a jig to hold the ends is a good Idea, Do need to keep the headlight pods in the same place also and try to bend between the Headlights, Or just keep the ends from moving and don't worry about the Headlights?
Thanks, But I already have a new dropped bar and I just need to know the best way to put the bow in it. I know people do it to the new bars I'm just looking for info.
The 32 Headlamp bar fits only 32 P***enger and Pickup/Panel and 32 BB. The 33-34 Commercial Headlamp Bar fits only 33-34 Pickup/Panel and 33-34 BB. 2 totally different pieces.
***us and I just did this earlier this week. We just took a dropped stainless bar for a 30-31 and bent it over a piece of flat stock in a vice. No sweat. Gennie makes a dropped bar for an A with a 32 grille but it's a bit pricey at $250. I found my bar on eBay for $100 and we had it bent and fit within 15 minutes.
