Hello, I would like to buy air ride on my 1954 ford customline. I search dropped spindles with disc brake. Could you help me to find dropped spindles ? Thanks Rémi The gormandizers club.
Most places that sell the disc brake kit make them with the granada spindles which lower your car about an inch and a half. I ordered my set through Jamco suspension though they have been slower then mol***es getting it to me (I ordered it the beginning of October and haven't seen it yet). You can also ordered kits from places like Drop-em and Stop-em or Gearheads.
Ok, cool 1hot1954. But when i write "granada spindles" in search in Jamco, I just have dropped spindles but no "granada and not for 54 ford. I'm bad in english, can you give me ce link of your grana spindle that you have buy ? Thanks Rémi.
They don't say they are Granada spindles you would have to call them to get the details of the spindles they use. Here is the disc brake conversion I bought from them. http://www.jamcosuspension.com/products/sfID1/33/sfID2/35/sfID3/60/productID/459
I used http://www.dropnstop.com/ for their spindles and disc brake kit. I also just dropped it further by using Moog # CC850 springs. Check my thread in this group on the details for the springs if you don't go with the air ride setup.
Excuse me but I'm not sure to understand all. (I'm french and my english is bad) If I buy this item (http://www.jamcosuspension.com/produ.../productID/459), it drop the front of my car about 1,5 inch ?
hey gormandizers,i have a 52 mainline sedan an i was askin a friend last week how he lowered his 54 sedan and he siad you can switch sides on your spindels now on the car,but you take left and turn upside down put on right andright upside down on the left.this gave him about a3.5 to 4 inch drop, and added new springs it looks good and he didnt spend a lot to get that way .i think you will have to buy new pins for spindels not sure . well good luck .
Save yourself a bunch of money and find a set Granada spindles and brakes, You can have them machined by any machinist. Its a very simple job to make them lower your car 2 1/2" - 3" and it only cost me about $40 at my local machine shop. Take a look at some of my old posts for more details.
Really the easiest way to lower the front end is cut the springs down . Lowering blocks work too . That was the way we use to do them . Easy too . Drop n stop is a good one to go with . Have heard nothing but good things from them , plus with the kit you don't have to go searching for more parts to finish the kit . RetroJim
