Is there a cheap and easy way to lower a stock Model A front-end, without having to go to an aftermarket dropped axle? I know the original axles were forged and the aftermarket are cast. I am going to run a Model B engine, so would the cast axle be fine, if I had to go that route? Thanks for the help.

you wont get much , but heres a few inches in doing it this way.

Reverse eye on the main spring, take out some of the spring pack..maybe 4 or more?..set your ride height to see if you can go 4 or 5 or more..and check that it dont hit on a real hard bump.
those are my 2 suggestions, for stock front cross member stock axle..stock everything

  3. not all aftermarket dropped axles are cast , the ones from Ch***is Engineering and So-Cal are forged. i'd just have your original axle dropped..there are several on here that provide this service

Greg Haynes did a beautiful job on mine, just got it back from the chromers, and am real happy with it. Think it's Anson dropped axles, if you try a search.

  5. search for "296v8" on here

  6. Cheapest and easy is to take a few leaves out of the spring. It won't get you a lot but it will give a little bit, and you can do it yourself in the driveway for free more or less. Anything else costs money -
