Howdy all Tim here. Well we finally did it! The 26 T Roadster drives. We got it going on sat and drove all over the neighborhood and in the yard and such. Got it up to about 50. The neighbors could just scratch thier and shake thier heads at the two idiots tearing around in this jalopy. We almost hit the mailman! Much still needs to be done but we're gonna get it fer sure. I will post pics later tonight if I can get a chance. Thanks to all who helped Dv8, Sinner, Hot Rod Walt, Noodles, Voodoo, Repoguy, Dallas, Nads, Draglickscc, CharlieChops1940, Bigums and many others...HAMB people! Pics will be on the way! Tim MBL
Congratulations! Now you can drive it over here to pick up your drums and oil canister so I can see it.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Im not sure how I helped but thanks for the props! It was great seeing the pictures. when do we race for pinks?
Can't leave out BruceLancaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!totally helped with particulars and details. Never hesitated to answer stupid questions and PMs. There are truely too many to thank here...Swiss Mike....Waynes Junkyard...wow too many. Tim MBL
There is nothing like the feeling of a car you built out of pieces move under it's own power for the first time. Each time I build a car for my self or someone else, the firts drive is always the best thrill. Makes alot of time spent working on it and dreaming of cruising down the road worthwhile.
I didn't help either, all I did was belittle you and say you'd never get it done. I suppose that could be considered encouragement. I saw the pictures of it yesterday, you did good Tim. Congratulations, I hope to see it in person soon.
Even if you never touched the car you guys helped with info on where to get parts...providing build tips and such. Nads your car and build ideas are inspirational...for what its worth your car was the first of its kind that I was ever in. I caught the bug at that first Rumblers show as did a lot of our crew. Maybe the badgering helped...but we know its all in good fun. Tim MBL
Get it ready for the Rumblers show in Feb. We can meet on I-4 and drive over. I heard you got it running from John thru Matt yesterday after we got home from the Nostalgia drags
Thanks Tim. Don't think that for one moment, just because your T's on the road, that you're exempt from being talked down to and ragged on. This will continue until one of us dies. If you die before me, I'll continue razzing on you until I die.
Congrats, Tim! Can't wait to see the pictures... PS: try not to run over the mailman, he might be carrying the schematic for the amp.
I will get the pics up tonight. I think you all will enjoy the jalopyness of it. Got to add some shocks to the thing. I'm thinking of making some friction shocks for it or putting some oil filled ones on it if I can get some cheap...or free. Tim MBL
I can relate to your enthusiasm. I too drove my T for the first time not too long ago and took it out again for another extended shakedown run last weekend. Got to do about 8-10 miles total up and down the road. Took my wife and kids, and my son's one friend who was over, for rides. The boys talked it up at school no doubt! Congrats!
This sucks. Mine still sets in the new garage on the cusp of driving. It's so damn close I get pissed just looking at it. It's wierd, I should be stoked and motivated - but I get bummed and lazy when I see it. Sorry, this post isn't about me. Congratulations man. It must feel fucking rad.
Still plenty more to do as you can see....but its almost there and we're having fun...I am still going to put some spoke wheels and wide whites on it.... Tim MBL
I like the exploding trunk option that the car has...what retard hooked that up? That car is fun....and loud....and by the way this thread is headed....homo-erotic.
How far did you chase that old guy for that hat?And put some makeup on you roadster whore. looks good tim
Body and paint are next...that and the exhaust. It really is not as loud as we thought it might be without any exhuast hooked up at all. We'll see what it sounds like with the cones on it. If its not too bad we may leave it that way. Plans were to have a cutout going under the car with some Smithy's on it. The paint plans are to have most of the body a beige color then on the top 8th have it painted a maroon color and more of a satin finish. I'm gonna try my hand at the interior thing...tuck and roll with marine vinyl. Howabout someone photoshop a paintjob on that thing? Tim MBL
We should start a post of what your car looked like on its first run. I wonder how many had the same kind of gas tank as mine? Probably quite a few. Tim MBL
