does anybody know these guys. what kind of work do they do. they build engines and 9' ford i keep getting the run-a-round on a 9" has anybody delt with them.
I live in Greenwood, and I haven't heard of them. That may not mean anything though. What is there address or location??

I have experienced it personally to the tune of over $4000.00 literally wasted. It would be a h***le, but I could easily get a judgment against him. You are lucky. To say that he is toxic would be an understatement. Totally clueless would also work but the best idea is just to run if you get anywhere near him. Roo

i have bought a 9" rear end from him and it seems he keeps giving me the run a round, he all way takes the phone call i will give him a little more time and call more offten before i make a trip up there
I had him build a 351-w for me and it took forever and now I wish I done the motor myself or had someone locally do it,it runs ok but it does not have the power I was told it would. I think it has junk heads and a cam with a 302 firing order,this motor is in my 55 sunliner and I have found a Y block to build and will use the 351 for my 65 custom 500 after I go through it. From what I read on a mustang forum I cant believe he is still in buisness and see him set up at the swapmeet at the Marion county faigrounds in the fall,when I went to pick up the motor he said his builder would rather build chevy motors which was funny since he delt with fords so that should of been a sign that there would be trouble. His shop makes sanford and sons house look orginized.
This guy is a joke!!! I placed an order for a 98-02 camaro 9" rear fully ***embled from him in october of 2009. I was talked into paying for it through a bank transfer. This was done october 11th. I was given a build time of 6-8 weeks. I was given the runaround for 3months until january of 2010 when i started *****ing for my money back. So mid February i finally get the so called bolt in 9" and it was absolutely F-ING JUNK!!! The welds were spattered all over, looked like big blobs of bubble gum. The housing itself was crooked, you could literally see light through the gaps in the welds on the brake brackets and spring perches. The undersides weren't even welded up either. It in no way looked like it would hold up to the tolerances of a drag car. Luckily it was so bad i never even attempted to install it. I sent it back now 3wks ago and am still waiting for a refund. He says that the money he owes me isn't in his acct yet and will send it when he gets it. I call twice a week and get the same BS story. I wished i lived close enough to drop in and let him meet the bottom of my BOOT!!!

I had the same thing with this guy. I ordered a 50 Ford spec'd 9 inch and after 8 weeks I filed a complaint with FCC, FBI Internet Crimes and a couple of other fraud enforcement agencies. I got a reply from the Indiana Attorney General. They know this very well and have judgements against him for this very same practice. Fortunately, I insisted on paypal payment using my credit card. With fraud protection offered by most credit card companies, I was given a refund because he could not prove that he ever shipped the axle. He is a complete crook, works under different names, different companies, a real devious criminal.
If that is so why does Jim's Murry street address come up when I google DRS Engines and why is DRS part of the list that was posted earlier in this thread? I see that you are a brand new player here on the HAMB, care to explain your background and why your first post was about DRS? If DRS is indeed a new company why were they part of ztocobra's list? Better yet, how about some details re the ownership of DRS Engines if Jim is not involved. You appear to be a little outnumbered here by people that have been ****ed around or just plain shafted by Jim. I have known this ****er for about 13 years now and he continues to pull the same bogus stunts, promising the world and delivering ****, if at all. Roo
If this is the same DRS Engine located on 685 E Murry street in Indy. Then it has now been like two years that I am dealing with this shop. It started as a 351W stroked to a 432, Yes they had some extra work. my custom got to the shop since January on 2010, and up to this point thay have yet to get my ch***is to the powder Coater to get the job back to complete my enging and trans job. i am out about $12000.00 and now they are not answering the phones or calling me back, it has been the same story day after day, week after week and month after month. what ever they have asked for I have delivered and this shop/company is not delivering on their work. SORRY TO SAY BUT IT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD FOR ME GETTING MY WORK COMPLETED ANYTIME SOON.
If anyone wants to confront him he usually has a space at the swapmeet in the Marion county fairgrounds next weekend.
I did not see him at the swapmeet unless he setup on saturday,I always go on friday and he was there.
I have to report them motor he built survived going to Daytona and back but it definately does not have the RV cam I wanted,it would climb the hills in KY and TN good if I was going over 70 but any lower then 70 it was a dog so its got a cam that comes on at 2500 instead of just above idle like I requested.
Drs engines is one in the same as these other companies. Avoid this company like the plague. They screwed up the rebuild on the rearend of my truck then they did not tighten back the spindle nut or the caliper bolt when they did some front end work. They will not back up their work and still owe me money. Avoid the trouble I and several others have gone through.
I'm with ztocobra, This guy is a COMPLETE rip off and idiot!! I'm in for $$$ thousands and the story is the same. It's not worth the effort for a Judgement suit so I plan to spread the word!! If anyone plans a trip to visit this jerk and your travel brings you near East TN, let me know!! I'm in for the trip! I placed a order for 351W a year ago!! I've heard every excuse you can imagine! There is someone advertising motors on craigslist in my area from the indy area and I think its him,I might call to see if its him.
Has anyone heard anything more about this? My buddy (LAMO1) is STILL getting screwed over by them. Is there anyone local who can pay them a visit? Maybe see if his truck is still there. This guy seems like a real piece of dogs**t. How can he keep getting away with this ****?
I just fell into the same boat as Suds1959. I have been calling the shop since December and to now no answer. I left tons of messages and no return call. The one time I got an answer because I call from a different number I got an answer and was told jim was in the Hospital and he is sick. I am also into this shop for over 10Gs along with my custom ch***is, Heidts IRS N IFS and a lot of custom work there at this shop. The last pictures I got it showed my ch***is with rust all over it. The ch***is was returned to their shop in january of last year, for him to complete the 351W stroked to a 432 along with a big brake upgrade, custom aluminum drive shaft, tremec ****** and everything fully functional when it rolls out the shop, and to now, nothing no answer. My advise stay away from this shop. Heartland Engine Builders/DRS Engines. Am still deployed so am not even able to see if the shop or my truck is even there or if they are still around.
Yeah bro that ****s. I can't believe they can keep doing this to people. Hopefully you'll be able to get this resolved somehow. Keep me up to date so I know what is going on. Take care man. Talk to you soon. PLease - somebody help these good folks get some resolution.
I finally got my rearend 13 mounths later I called almost every day. jim had a hart atack but daniel took over and seems to be getting things done. I was worryed they would go out of bissness before I got mine. GOOD LUCK
