Motion Pictures Dry Lake Footage 1946

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jimmy B, Mar 8, 2013.

  1. This is from the 1950 movie 'Hot Rod'.

Footage is actually from 1946 as the cars that are present indicate that year.

That's a cool movie, kinda dopey, (as were most '50s "B" hot rod movies) but has great flathead '32 roadster sights and sounds! It's also available in DVD.

  9. I have been wondering that myself. My thought is some sort of water injection.

Love the rough-hewn character of the prewar and immediate postwar gow job! Form definitely followed function in those days, anyone else notice the roughness of those bodies? Thanks again for sharing Jimmy B, I need to take a vacation to NSW to dig through your library!!

THIS HOTROD IS A MURDERER!!!!!!!! IT KILLED TWO PEOPLE! Wow! and all along I thought people killed people. How can I have had it so wrong for so long? I am going out to my garage this very instant and put a bullet into each of my hotrods before they get me. Fella can never be too careful you know.
