Hahahhah!! Ok, Chopperimpala... Its like this... "If you feed a baby some Gerber smashed peas and have another baby stuck to the first babys ass by it's lips, then what happens is"....err...uhhh Ok bad example... Maybe I explained it best when I put up there "Just get a bigger blower" Haahahah!!!! Lain
Maybe one of the blowers is just an empty core that has been sealed and polished up? Wouldn't that be possible? -Troy
Complete crap. He is punching the throttle to try and make it sound like a typical alcohol blown injected engine which would surge. No reason for a carb engine to surge like that (case in point, he was at least bright enough to quit jerking off when he went across the mickey mouse ramps). Sorry guys, I hate knocking someones car. But first of all, this is jalopyjournal, not youtube. Lose this stupid video. Second of all, what a waste of money on this thing... Oh yeah, I should mention I have seen the car in person and it did attract a lot of attention from civilian type idiots that were standing around making stupid comments...
Yeah, Troy, anything is possible on a hot rod! And that aint no joke!! Just when you think you have seen it all, someone else does something that just leaves you scratching your head and either going "How did he do that!!" ...... OR ...... "Why????????" Haha!! Lain
S U R G I N G !!!!! That is the term I was looking for but couldn't get my dumb ass brain to "spit" it out!!! You say it is a sound like a "typical alcohol blown motor" what makes an alcohol motor surge like that?... AND so you know...I am NOT being a smart ass!!!! I just really enjoy that sound and am "wondering" what makes it happen...!!!!!!!Thanks, Ken
Thats what ALL the restorer dorks think about us when we put in a Hemi, or Nailhead into our rod, or chop it or channel it, but...THATS what makes US special!!!! WE do K O O L shit!!!!!!
There was a custom car built in the 70's. The "Popcorn Machine". Had a real popcorn cart on the back. It had three blowers stacked on it. Don't know if it ran though. There's one in front of the gate at Knotts Berry Farm. I think of that car everytime I go there.
Could it be possible the guy had watched TOOOO many episodes of Monster Garage when it was on? Ha HA!!!
chopperimpala, I wasn't picking on you nor do I think you are a smartass. It is a cool sound coming from a crisp "real thing" radical engine. I believe an injected motor surges because there are not really any idle circuits compared to a carbureted engine.
My BIL has a 372 Cleveland with a 471 and it does not surge to that extent - it is carburated though, so it may not just be an "injected" surge. I also have a good friend with a 671 running Enderle fuel injection and it definately idles real similar to the GTO in the vid. I think this surge is typical of engines running larger amounts of boost in a blower application. Have no scientific reason as to why.
well guys i know bill, f'd up looking or not that thing runs and drives on it's own. if you'd seen the damage after it'd been in the trailer that rolled you be amazed it was put back together. the rear suspension was basically ripped out of it. the thing idles like it does with out bill touching the throttle, fuel, air, fuel , air, fuel, air get the picture. both blowers are functional, i don't remember the total boost, a year ago i could have told you. he drives it on the street and has caught some hell over not having a red light on the carb hat for the airplanes. it does what it was meant to do, attract attn and that it does good bad or indifferent. mike
Redline, hey no problem!! I wasn't meaning that you were "picking on me" NOT AT ALL!!! When I was saying "I'm not being a smart ass" I was saying that in a "generalized" way as I know that sometimes guys come on here and ask questions -just- to be a smartass!! I was saying it like that so people would know I was asking a "genuine" question!! Does that make sense? It is HARD to ---type--- what I mean AND I usually always say (not being a smart ass) just to get the point across that I am actually wanting to know an answer, not just being a dick!!!
So, in laymans terms, and YES I know there have been lots of explanations to me about it, ( I guess I am just not getting it...SORRY GUYS!!!) but what do you mean by ...fuel, air...fuel,...air, etc. Why is the fuel and air not "mixing" together in the cylinders while firing??? AND AGAIN, like before...I AM NOT being a smart ass!! I am just trying to comprehend it, but it is apparently NOT "sinking" in...Thanks,...Ken
