Does anyone have or have info on Harmon-Collins dual coil flathead Ford distributers. I have a swap meet find but would like to know more about it. Are parts available anywhere and is the centrifugal advance stock Ford or modified. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is all I have. I don't believe parts are available. I do remember reading that the replacement crab caps don't work with the HC. Something about a reinforcing rib in the repro cap that interferes with the HC rotor I believe. Check cap clearance carefully.

A Ford cap will not work. I have never seen replacement parts for sale. Mike

Thanks for the info. One way the caps are different is that the wiring sequence around the cap is different since the rotor has 2 rotating electrodes. The H-C cap is stamped accordingly.

It's my understanding that an original Ford cap will work like this one. The new reproduction caps don't work. They break the unobtainium rotor. The firing order is different but that is just which hole you push the wires into. I bought this one rebuilt and the builder provided the #s for the new firing order. Nothing was cast into the cap. It was a flea market sale so I don't have the rebuilders #
