So..... Thursday night after dinner i was cruisin craigslist and happen to come upon an ad for an old coupe. It was an old hot rod 3 window coupe. Instantly emailed the guy to give me a call and 2o minutes later he calls and tells me its a 32 3 window coupe that has been in a garage/ba*****t basically since 49. It was taken apart in 49 and put in a ba*****t in new york. Then sold in 78 to his cousin in florida, who never did anything with it in florida where it sat untouched until 4 years ago, where it was then put in this ba*****t in south carolina. The guy decided he was never going to do anything with it, so he decided to sell it. Well after a couple of pictures and some thinking, he told me he had a couple of guys coming to see it in the morning. I told him right there i would take it and i would send him a deposite through paypal. After a little while we figured out how to get him a deposite, and now it was mine.
So after not sleeping all of thursday night thinking about it, me and my dad left friday night after work about 10pm and drove all night and got to his house in south carolina at about 6 in the morning. Loaded it up in the rain, and drove straight back. 18 hour round trip but now we are the proud owners of an original 3 window duece coupe. Its not as nice as i was hoping, but for the price, i dont think it could be beat. Now what to do with it is the question. Oh well, its safe in the garage for now.

That's why we have RedBull and Monster drinks, but the excitement of seeing it would be enough for me.

From a historical point of view this is really neat, this is what someone started with in 1949, an East Coast car that was 17 years old. Just look at all the work that will be needed to make the sheetmetal look like new, or a 17 year old West Coast car in 1949. Good luck with the project. Bob

Very cool! There is still hope, they really ARE still out there! Not sure what condition issues you're referring to; it looks way better than what a lot of other folks start out with. Congratulations!
