I have a 50 dodge pu I am adapting a T5 tranny to. I want to keep the original pedals, fork and pressure plate which is 11". I bought a set of bushing to get the T5 to mount which is pretty simple. I have a hard time sourcing an 11" disc, 14 spline 1" shaft. They only came one year in a GMC Safari van. Someone told me just to use a smaller disc from the S10 the donor tranny came from which is something like a 9 3/8" disc. Will that work?

It might work. Make sure the inner diameter of the disc is not smaller than the inner diameter of the pressure plate...that is, make sure the whole disc is covered by the pressure plate.

You might try to have a custom disk made up to your specs. Ft Wayne clutch in Ft Wayne Ind. might be able to help you out. They know their shit.

a smaller disc should work fine, assuming that the dodge isn't cranking out a ton of torque.

failing that, a good clutch shop should be able to set you up with a custom disc, just about anything can be made, but i prefer an off the shelf solution when possible.

In regards to torque its the original 237 L6 bored 40 over with a 1bbl carb. Not a street monster but should pull me around town just fine.
