Awesome, Love the grill...I really don't know why some people hate that term "rat rod". I sort of like it. But to each his own , I guess.

    Tingler,

Love it. Now that I've read Ryan's article on traditional rod, I can understand the rat rod term more and the trad rod as well. I dig your ride. Why not just throw a Willys or a Jeep grill on it? The Willys with the slight V shape to it would be OK, wouldn't it? The tractor grill is small, why not look for a John Deere? It is wider and more square so it could match up the firewall a bit.

Don't know but I do like what you are doing. My two cents aren't worth much but it sure looks fun. I wanted to do that with a '54 Chevy truck cab I've got out here but it looks like the rest of the truck will be home this week!

I take that back on the grill shell. Now that I've stared at the front view the radii are perfect. Widening might be the thing but the Farmall badge is too cool! Pre-52 when they went to the 'Man on a Tractor' IH logo. Stupid little square badge...got one on my Super C.

  11. I think a few strategically-placed pie cuts in the top of the cowl would allow you to pull the sides in some. It wouldn't be hard to do.

It's looking good. Stay after it. ;)

    Tingler,
I agree with KTK. It keeps with the Jeep theme and looks cool/mean. Maybe try mounting the tractor grille onto the front of the Jeep grille. Just thinking out loud.

    Nice breast plates!

Seriously Tingler, I learned a while back to quit with the self imposed 'deadlines'. Now I just make a list of everything I need get done in a little spiral notebook. As I complete items (like plumb the brakes or wire headlight switch, etc.) I cross 'em off the list with a hi-liter.

That way when you feel like you haven't got anything done you can at least see how much you really have gotten accomplished.

    It's a journey, not a destination, right?

    By the way, lookin' good!

Bitch'n. I like either grille, and think that after you put some pipes on the sides of the motor, the Farmall piece will look fine, even without widening.

I am dazzled and amazed by your vision and imagination. Please keep us up to date.

I just checked out a complete Willys truck last night. I was going to pass but now I'm having second thoughts. I think I'd run two headlights though...

I think it looks MUCH better with the willys grille. And with the wheels and tires from the same photo.

Tingle Bingle, I hear an old International CRYING for it's GRILLE back.

That thing has come SO far! I'm amazed, it looks just like your master monster creations!!

How's the baby? She's prolly the mastermind behind all of this.:D

  27. I say Jeep grille too. Put letters on backwards and call it a Peej.

I had a lady give one of them to me a few years back. I drug it home, tore it all apart and there it sat for about six months. I then gave it to a buddy of mine that just ended up givin it to another friend of ours. I'm not sure if he still has it or not. I should check and see if I can get it back for free again, or for a few pbr's. :D

you need to find a jeep version and cut up the quarter panels to use as bed sides so they match the doors.. I think i remember the closed jeep versions having a similar look....

Don't get shook bro. There is a certain distinction between a rat rod and a parts hauler. Call it a parts hauler and it'll be fine, no one will ever know the difference.:D

I like it BTW, mayhaps it isn't traditional in the strictest sense of the word but it looks so much like an artists ride that it hurts.

Someplace on there you need to copy picasso's signature then pull a line through it and sign it tingler just below and to the right.
