If you have the old 097 or 098 also packaged as Mellings C8P try 12 and 18 for the street. Some ran 8 on the intake for higher revs. I hope this helps..
[ QUOTE ] Ahh.....so if its a 30-30 it should be .030? [/ QUOTE ] An old Hot Rodder ( he played with this stuff when it was new ) told me they run better with a tighter clearance. Is that true? I can see how that would give more overlap, but would that make you burn the valves or something like that?
The Duntov 097 was early Corvette cam, , , I-12 & E-18 is right for '58 thru '61, '62-'63 340 & 360 hp were 18 & 18. The 30/30 was '63 up to mid 60s Corvette 375 hp FI cam, 30 & 30 ran good for me. Around '66 the 350 hp 327 had a good hydraulic cam, much more streetable than the FI cam, esp with an automatic. Ah, memories, hearing a C series AFB wail at about 6500 , drilling & pinning rocker studs because they kept pulling .
