Which DuraSparks rotated clockwise viewed from above?

Did any of the long-stem DuraSparks rotate clockwise?

Actually I think they all run CCW, even on a reverse rotation marine engine.

I found images on Google that clearly show clockwise versions but the engines weren't made clear.

The Duraspark distributor from a late 80's Jeep Wagoneer with the 360 motor looks exactly like the Ford unit but rotates clockwise. It uses all the same internals as the Ford parts, so replacement parts are as near as your Ford dealer or favorite parts store.
I have attached a couple pictures of mine. The first is in a flathead motor in my '32 cabriolet, the the second is a side shot of a spare modified distributor. To use it in a flathead requires an extension shaft be made and the fins under the body be turned down for attaching a clamping plate. I used the late aluminum timing cover on my flathead which has the same diameter as the distributor, although that diameter has to be cut all the way through. It was an easy job with the proper size reamer (1 1/16" as I recall). This unit has run great for several years now. I like the idea of having an electronic distributor that looks like the original unit and has parts availability anywhere.
    Hope this info is helpful.

Thanks. This is very helpful. I discovered that '80s AMC, Jeep, AMX, and Javelin DuraSparks all turn clockwise.

Are you using the pre-Duraspark cap and rotor? Or did AMC not use the oversized cap? Issues with arcing or anything if that is the pre-DSII cap?

I'm planning a DSII swap onto my engine, a lot easier for mine than yours at least, and while not totally hung up on everything looking old the oversized cap and adaptor assembly bugs me. I understand that the earlier cap and rotor will work on the DSII distributor but some have had arcing issues inside the cap.

My plan is to run the DSII distributor with an HEI module as its easier to hide than the DSII module. Probably tuck it inside my no longer used regulator casing.

The cap you see (and rotor) are the correct ones used with that distributor. Both distributors I've shown in the pictures were rebuilt units. I traded in cores on them that I got straight out of Wagoneers and they both had the smaller caps on them. The caps even say "Motorcraft" right on them.
    Hope this helps.
