THANK YOU for that information!! I'm going to contact both of them and see what they think and maybe get an idea of what this would all cost.
Thanks for that, I appreciate it! It's been a pretty fun project so far, I just need to work on it more than every, 6 months!
Like wise! I would, cover all your bases before you make any choices. An early 21 stud flathead would be more unique then a later 24 stud mill (if dressed period) but would "kill the vibe" as you said so well. Don't get me wrong....I love a flathead v8, but only in the right car. Me too, sure would make building your top easier ...Kansas and Oregon way too far apart. We certainly will have to at some point, perhaps on the Salt in the next 5 years or so? Sent from Mr. ModelT's DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
I knew that my manifolds had arrived from BCCHOPIT today and were sitting in the front porch so I excused myself from work early. I came home, opened the box and found these!!!!! Once again, Bill came through for me!!! I couldn't ever find a header that I liked that would fit the late '30's style that I've tried to keep with this build. After looking at a lot of different option, I came across a thread where Bruce Lancaster mentioned splitting two, stock manifolds and I was hooked! The trick is, finding someone that can weld cast better than me. As it turns out, Bill (BCCHOPIT) can weld anything better than me so he split and welded these up. I dropped them on... and hooked up the pipes that he bent and welded up for them too. Bill is a banger guy and has the ability to mock this stuff up on his test engine and his coupe to make sure it's right before you get it. Here's the finished product!!! I'M STOKED!!!!! It sounds sweet and shoots some good flame too!! Bill was able to take my vision of the intake and the exhaust and make it happen!! I think that they both fit the idea of the car and are both very unique!! I have to give a big shout out to Bill Carlson at WAC Customs for pulling this off in a big way!! Nicesest parts on the car!! Thanks, Bro!!!
I love them. Perfect for this car. Biiiiiiill, I've got a bunch of these waiting on a shellllllllllf.
Saw those on the monthly banger meet...stinkin' awesome!! When you get your head & cam installed, please for the love of sweet baby Jesus post a video of it running!
nice job, bill! nice job having good taste, jason! killer stuff. this progress of yours has me almost wishing i had the silver city special back...
Very cool. Bill and I follow each other on IG and he posted pictures of the manifolds. I had no idea they were for your car and that I'd get to see them this weekend... Very cool indeed!
Sweet.... they look good on there. Thanks for letting me do some thing cool for your bad ass little car. Now get out there and drive the shit out of that thing
I'll do it!! I'm going to try to get a video of it tomorrow if I can! Thanks man!! Bill kicked ass on this stuff!! First class all the way!! I wish that you still had it too! Hell...build another one, I know a good manifold guy if you need too!! Mike, I'm pumped to finally meet a bunch of you fellas!! Don't get your hopes up too high though, the Dust Bowl isn't too pretty and neither am I. It's a fitting car for a half assed miscreant like me though!! Bill...CANNOT thank you enough. This is just too cool!!! I have some tweaking to do on it here and there and hope she will be ready to at least bomb up and down the roads at Jay's place!!
That exhaust set-up is a thing of beauty. I can't wait untill I get a little package-o-joy from Bill.
That is a real trick setup! Nothing like a 'banger with straight pipes!.....just don't set your chassis on fire with them "noise makers" Can't wait for the vid! Sent from Mr. ModelT's DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
HA! Clayton I think that Mike (Cactus1) is going to post some video of it. I was having some carb issues that we finally got straightened out toward the end of the day. Mike and I did some blasting up and down the dirt roads and even some, old style pasture racing with BarnfindT and Tman!! It was some banger goodness!! Had an excellent time at the HAMB-B-Q! I'll post some pics and some more in a bit. I think that you'll get a kick out of our race video, Mike and I were laughing like school girls and the Dust Bowl ripped right along with the open pipes!!! More to come......
God DAMN that sounds like fun! . I would loved to have been there and raced a few laps with you guys! I really don't have anything like that out here....just cruising the city streets. Would love to fun race against a few other "gow jobs" and "hop ups" Can't wait for the pics and vids! Sent from Mr. ModelT's DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
You would have had a blast!! We discussed your roadster and it's finer points and how influential it's been to my car and others. It would be SWEET to get a bunch of these togther on a dirt track!!!!!
I keep expecting a banked track at Jays each time I come back haha. I'm looking forward to seeing mikes hanging out of the car video. Hopefully I'll have my video up tonight or tomorrow, depends on how the day goes. Car sounded great though and went like hell! I think there were just as many if not more banger/flathead cars than overheads yesterday. Good times indeed just much sure those chains don't get caught up in your steering wheel see ya down the road
That would be awesome! Maybe we need to orginize a Pre-War Gow Job, Hot Rod and Hop Up meet.....all pre-1940? All we need is a 1/2 mile dirt track and we could have a hell of allot of fun! Sent from Mr. ModelT's DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
just went threw all my video clips and it seems like all the good stuff is clips of your car! seems like it recorded the sound pretty accurate as well, I'll post my video over on the HAMB BBQ thread
Can't wait to see the vids! A pre/immediate post war gow job meet would be phenomenal...totally needs to happen!
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AT-4gOlygeU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> video is about 7 minutes long and your ride and the other bangers are in pretty much all of the last 4 minutes, pre and post carb surgery sounds and all
