    Jay,
Thanks for the call tonight. Like I said, Salina is out as I have to be down south but the "Dust Bowl' is registered for the drags. That's kind of funny sounding, I know, but it is a goal just to get it there. As you know, my kiddos will be in tow so I still haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to do all of it but I know that Chris "Oldfart36" has been kind enough to offer uis a place to stay for a couple of nights. So....I'll see what I can do. Once again, I have to get it in gear!!

If I can make it over there with it, you guys can bomb it around as much as you want! It is a tight fit though and I'm only 5' 11" and weigh 200lbs. I'd say it's borderline tight for me. My 4 and 6 year old and I fit OK in it for now but I know that won't last long!!

I'm going to do my best to make it. Like everyone else, I have a ton of things to get done to it and need to get off my ass!!!!

What did you use for a fuel pump? And how's it working?

My vintage "Auto-Pulse" caught on fire (and me too) so I just plumbed in a $40, 6 volt pump from CarQuest. It's mounted on the frame rail about a foot from the tank. I have a shutoff right afterr the tank outlet, then a filter. Then into the pump then into another filter and into a Holley, low pressure regulator and then into the carb. The pump works great so far. I have a separate switch for it along with an ignition switch.

I can take a picture of the pump or get some numbers off of it if you want.

    so it goes: tank/shut off/filter/pump/filter/regulator/carb?

and the pump is wired into the key? or?

it's just all the electrical stuff that is confusing to me. requires too much linear thought...

That's correct on the order that I have things set up. I like to filter it before the pump and one more that sits under the floorboard that I can get to that's just prior to the regulator.

Currently, the fuel pump has it's own toggle switch. This thing has no key at the moment. Only a "master" ignition switch and a toggle for the fuel pump. Someday I'll key it I guess. I'm an old dirt track guy so I just like on/offs! I still use the original, starter though.

I understand!!!! I don't like it!! Like I said, I only have two switches. An ignition switch that makes the starter "hot" and then one that runs the fuel pump. I'm not running any of the original "A" ignition switch or the terminal box. Just had to start from scratch on it. You could easilily wire your fuel pump into the keyed ignition switch though too. I suppose that I would have it I had all of that there to start with.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! That's no lie!!! 24 seconds would be a real streaker for the "Bowl"!! Chris, I appreciate the hospitality. I'm still not 100% sure how I'm going to pull all of this off...especially with my 4 and 6 year old in tow! They are easy kids and have manners though and LOVE the old cars. We go and do all sorts of adventures so this will be no differet, I suppose. Plus, I've been a single Dad since they were in diapers so this should be easy!

  16. No more excuses Bugs. See ya at noon Friday with the little one's and who ever else would like to come. ;)

Jay....I'm still planning on it. I do, however, appreciate the high-pressure voice mails to keep me motivated. I'll be honest with you, it's not going to be easy to make it but I'm working everything I can to be there!!

I will have some updates on the roadster. Have a couple of new things going on with it!!

did you move the position of the steering box to get the angle of the column low like that? on mine, the column sits up tight into the stock opening. and i am worried that i won't be able to lean the posts at all.

No, I didn't move it. In fact, I had to shove it up there pretty good just to get it as high as it is. I'm not 100% happy with it as it sits, so someday, I'm going to fab up a new mount and reposition the whole shebang. Are you trying to mount it up to a '27 dash?

the only thing i worry about is steering wheel to windshield clearance.

also, did you heat the throttle pedal and change its angle to fit up inside the car once you put the floorboards in?

I hope so too! I'm going to do my best to be there but with life at the moment, I'm about 50/50.

Yep. I had to heat and bend them all around a fair amount to get them right. Once I get in my new, down-draft manifold, I'm going to fab up a new, throttle linkage and may end up replacing all of it anyway.

Yeah...I'm thinking a spoon for the new carb/intake set up.

BCCHOPIT is not only on the inside track...he is the inside track!! He's fabbing up a new intake and exhaust. We've put our heads together and came up with somethings that are real, old style looking and unique that should really fit the look of the car. I'll tell you that he does killer work, as you probably already know and I can't wait to get all of it and get it set up. It's kind of rejuvinated me with the build!!

I promise to put some new stuff out next week. I just don't really have anything to show as of yet!!!
