Does anybody know who is actually supplying Speedway with these windshields? I ordered one for my '31 on January 1st, for a ship date of 1/15. They haven't taken my money so that's not an issue, but they keep bumping the date up. Now it's supposed to be shipped 6/1/16. Not having the windshield is not holding me up, I'll work on something else. My biggest fear is that they will quit making them and my dreams of this car will go up in smoke. I'd just like to make sure I don't get left out.

I think the fact that it's a 31 is the hold up. They are made in Canada as I recall. The 32-36 are the most popular and I received mine quickly.

It may be since Speedway is selling them the demand has overwhelmed their production capabilities.

Reminds me a bit of when I was waiting for some parts for my T bucket and after a call to the manufacture we were told that the guy who made that particular part was on vacation. Sure enough just after he got back from vacation the parts showed up.

It's the same with their forged axles. When they sell out, and they sell out quickly, it's about 4-6 months before they get more in. It happens. Have you tried another source for the windshield?

  5. Yes, I do know who is making the Duvall's being sold by Speedway and, to best of my knowledge, no worries about manufacturing continuity .........these windshield frames are being done by a local hotrodder who also works full time, hence the frames are an "after hours" endeavor together with his own hotrodding activities, life in general, etc......also I believe frame orders are "accumulated" so batch manufacturing/finishing/etc can be done on a "production line" basis and wouldn't be surprised an arrangement with Speedway is that a set # of frames are ordered at one time......then manufacturing begins.......lastly, recent conversation with the local builder of these frames included that he was spending "a lot of time" creating new molds for the Duvall frame to fit 28-29 's as original mold went "missing" in Speedway's cavernous warehouse a while back........

Cam Grant and Gary Lang from B.C. made the first ones.
Don't know if they are still affiliated with this production tho...

Well crap! My Duvall windshield came and it doesn't fit in the location of the old one. The body I have had a Duvall windshield when I bought it in 1975. The car was rough for the time and I sold the w/s to a friend. I've now got the bug to do this car. It's definitely a 30/31 but the Past Tech windshield from speedway (marked as 30/31) seems too narrow by about 3-1/2", compared to the old mounting holes. An Auburn dash has been reversed and welded to the cowl, so the windshield sets further back where the cowl is wider. My hunch is that it may have had a Duvall for '32 windshield on it. Does anyone have the out to out dimensions of the mounting studs of a Duvall for '32? The mounting holes in my body are about 42-1/2" Any help may let me sleep tonite.

    Thanks
