Yeah, I know.....another T5 adapter question, right? Well, I've read through a bunch of the threads and I still have a couple questions. Maybe someone that has a T5 behind a banger will chime in on this.

My setup is using an AA truck 4 speed bellhousing behind the stock model A flywheel housing. I'm using an S-10 T5 with a mechanical speedo. I'm using the stock model A pedals hung on the shaft that Dwight supplies with the adapter. I'm running the stock model A flywheel and pressure plate which has been lightened.

My questions involve the "neck" that the throwout bearing rides on. I spoke with Dwight and he said to use the stock model "neck" that unbolts from the transmission so I can therefore use the model A throwout bearing and collar. He said to bolt it to the adapter, but it appears that it will be too long if I do that and there won't be any splines to engage the clutch. Do I need to remove the "neck" on the T5 and replace it with the model A "neck" or do I just slide the model A on over it? Do I need to cut down the model A "neck" to expose the splines and if so how much? Also, do I need to cut anything off the input shaft of the T5 (the smaller non-splined end of the shaft is longer than the stock model A)?

Finally, I got the bronze pilot bushing from Dwight and I ***ume that it is driven into the flywheel, but does it drive in the the smaller diameter portion towards the engine or towards the transmission?

Oh yeah, and does anyone have the part number for the clutch disc that works best for this application? I ***ume I can get it from Speedway but I figured I'd ask to see if there is a certain one that works best.

If any/all of this information is available on another post I'm sorry. I saw a ton of stuff regard AV8 conversions but basically nothing as far as a T5 behind a banger. Thanks for any and all help.

Got the wrong parts, you use the input shaft retainer/Throw out bearing collar from a 32-48 Ford V8 3 speed transmission. This is a shorter collar than the A and takes place of using a press on sleeve. These are special hub discs to clear the flywheel bolt heads. Have clutch discs in stock.

Ok, I'm confused. Dwight said I needed the snout (for lack of a better term) off a model A transmission. He said he couldn't remember if it was the truck or car version, but one was too long. He thought the car one was right. It slides easily over the one on the T5 so can I just cut some off it?
