Has anyone used the Hawthorne "rayflex" acrylic paint sold on E-bay? The $35 a gallon is inviting.................anyone actually used it and how was it? We buy some $65 locally and with hardener it works great on trucks, etc but these guys have a Lot of neat colors.
One of my buddies has used it(a couple of times) and he really likes it. Everytime he talks about painting a car or truck he talks about ordering a gallon off ebay for 35.00
IM A PAINTER MY SELF .KEEP IN MIND IT MAY LOOK FINE FOR A WHILE BUT .YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ITS CHEAP FOR A REASON.JUST SOME THING TO THINK ABOUT.
I have used the rayflex primer and I have a gallon of the silver metallic ready to go on my car when the body work is done. The primer went well enough, I'd expect the paint to do so as well. Real good customer service too as I recall.
In reality price has nothing to do with quality. Lets say I purchased a gallon of this paint for $35 ,lets say I sold it for $70 . Is it better paint now that it costs more? Anyway if the "you get what you pay for " was valid ,wouldn't we all be driving Boyd's cars?
I have a gallon of the paint waiting till after vacation to paint my boys truck with it. the body work is complete and guide coated and ready. Want it to have a clean look and its off to the swap meet to sell. Ed ke6bnl
