http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33710&item=2446970066 saw these I have bought stuff from this guy in the past and the quality was really bad but these are polished and dont look to bad i was wondering if any one has bought any ???
Hell $200 sounds a lot better than $1500!! Pics are a little far away but looks like to me some minor work would make some cool lights.
[ QUOTE ] All I have is what you see in the pictures and you have to figure out how to put them together [/ QUOTE ] This is the bit theat'd worry me. Cheap knock-offs that went wrong? Mounting points? Fixture method? What lights fit inside? Although with the price diff to the other repros (that I believe a HAMBer does) they might be worth the effort.
these are very poor castings the two halves don't line up to well and there isn.t even a provided way to attach them.i saw em on ebay a while back and was kind of interested then yesterday a guy at pomona swap had a set and now i know why there only 200 look good in pictures but not in person. this isn't to say you couldn't make them work it'd just take alot of effort and you better know how to weld aluminum.
Oof... Anything I say here is going to sound bad, but sand casting will result in something that WILL need to be welded togather... Also, since I would assume an original was used as the pattern, what do you do about the shrinkage? You would have to fab everything else, as none of the curves would be the same, and lenses? Sorry, there is just a reason why he doesn't sell them built... M-
