Awesome old firetruck, standard medical vehicle, standard flat tow truck - ALL NOT NEEDED - Yahoo! Wonderful Flagman, wonderful drivers, wonderful cars, wonderful fans. Yahoo! ROCKY ROCKS. Thank you to all, FAMILY, EAGLE FIELD VOLUNTEERS, Friends and all the rest of you that helped Rocky realize this dream. This was one fantastic start to what should become at least a yearly event.
Hey Butch, have you started building your HA/GR yet?? Ya gotta have enough parts sitting around for a start. AMEN.......sign us up for the second annual Eagle Field meet.......are the tickets printed yet?
What a great day! Great cars running and on display. Made some new friends, Tim, Kathy, Charlie, Al, Gary, Jackie, Joe and Mike. Saw some old ones too (Dick, Vicky & Elmer). All the best...car people! What a kick! Looking forward to next time... Dr. Dave Modesto, CA BRT's Dad
I brought the yellow bi-plane. Next time we will race our 62 impala! Great Show! Thanks to all. bill and gloria
TOM Got enough parts to do it. I just don't think some of the HAMB guys would appreciate it. But we may build a Open Wheel car for Josh to run. See you all at the Finals Butch Headrick wwew.anra.com
Was there a ban on cameras? "What happens at Eagle Field ---------Stays at Eagle Field" ????? Some of us couldn't make the 7000mile flight this weekend....
Thanks guys for all the kind words..............I would like to add a few for my son who I dumped parts in his lap and said I have to go son, call me if you need help. Lee is a very talented young man who got thru the weekend making a cam change/head modification that went sour. With a great call by Butch and a used head gasket he put it back together in the dirt, ran the block dry and won the HA/GR category on his own while helping me when I needed help with the event, GREAT JOB SON!
Congrats he is good Kid and he is a pretty good welder too, Thanks Lee for the header patch job. Did any one else notice how the ANRA guys stuck together and helped each other?
Hey Rocky, that's a great kid you have there. I stopped by his pits while he was putting the top end of the motor back on (there's a picture of me talking to him somewhere) and even with as busy as he was he took the time to answer all of my dumb questions and put up with me gawking at his car while he was trying to fix it. You must be very proud of him! Thanks again for putting up with me Lee!
Oh yeah and his car is Bitchin' to boot, makes me wish I would have hung on to my little 200" 6-banger outa my Mustang. See you guys next year, hopefully with some sort of racecar in tow (maybe a HA/GR)
Check out the HA/GR final rd at Eagle Field and TURN IT UP! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9rkF9nTcKA
Yep, that sure does make a point of our traction problem doesn't it? I finished truing & tightening the new rims and drilling & studding the axles for'em today. If we can get the tires and tubes in time I'll redrill the drums and we'll have a bit more bite for Butch's "finisher". Skatin's great fun .... , but it's hell on ETs. Good win, Lee.
OK so I stole some pictures from the main thread to bring them over here. Is that wrong? If it is let me know and I will take them down. Anyways, looks like a crazy awesome time. I might have to make the next show even though my HA/GR is not finished and still on the other coast. I do have a mini bike here!!! If that video up there ^^^ doesn't get you going then you need to leave... Man that flag start is crazy! Was it the same guy all day?
Yep RJ the starter is a MANIAC! No problem, I wanted to post the photos from the main board myself but it seems I always on borrowed time
