Have any of you guys tried a Pertronix electric ignition kit in your 331 Cad engine, if so how has it worked out?

Mine was converted before I purchased it, and it works wonderfully.

Don't just plop in the Petronix, check to make sure the advance weights are not hanging up and that the springs are good.

Be aware there are several versions of the Pertronix. Absolutely do not make the fatal mistake of buying the cheaper version, the Pertronix I. If the ignition is left in the ON position without the engine running, even for just a few seconds, as required for checking out new wiring or if the engine should die while you're under the hood setting the multiple carbs, the Pertronix will self-destruct and you'll see the magic smoke come out of the pickup. Don't ask how I know this.

Because they'd sell a product with such an obvious and unacceptable flaw, I'll never, ever buy anything Pertronix again.

Nowadays, I'm converting all my distributors to use the Mopar triggers.
