    It's not a Modified Roadster -- It's a (Altered) Roadster.

The pipes were made out of Ford torque tubes.

    1960-63

"Lee Pendleton, of Cleveland, Ohio. Pendleton used an Allison engine from a P-51 fighter plane in his dragster. Capable of producing 2700 horsepower, it took Pendleton two years to build. Pendleton added small airplane-type wings mounted in front of the driver's seat in 1961, boosting its top speed to over 180 mph.. In 1963, he built a Spitfire II, also powered by an Allison engine".

Chassis Research car. Chain driven de-stroked dodge red ram. This car was later sold to Ed Cholakian and went 200 at Bonneville with Don Torgenson at the wheel if I remember correctly.

    From above -
    WTF.........
Look just ahead of the drivers head, between the helmet and the steering wheel. Looks like the chassis builder and the driver weren't...good friends !

A unique 3-point roll system -- too bad one point is the driver's head.
