Kent built Tommy Ivo's first dragster. He was a true talent.

    upload_2021-6-22_4-3-15.png 1959-60 Lion’s Dragstrip Pits Don Prudhomme/ Ivo’s single Buick with Strombergs.

    Hello M,

Yes, Prudhomme was now the owner of the single Buick FED from the Ivo camp. We saw the first edition at Lion's in 1959 and in 1960, running at the 2nd Bakersfield Smokers March Meet.

Don Prudhomme single engine Buick… Check out :04

I received this original photo from an old friend in the Standard 1320 group. (Not posted from the HAMB.) It was the black cladding on Tommy Ivo’s Twin versus the blue Chevy powered FED of Valley Home Service at Riverside Raceway in 1959.
The exact race filmed from the cliff top seating position/location.

Those were some exciting days following the icons of drag racing from back then. These are the only action films taken at Lion’s Dragstrip of the Tommy Ivo's red single Buick, single with 671 and the red twin. Long live the early “Drag Racing In Motion.”

Tommy Ivo progression from his single engine to 671 single to the twin at Lions, Riverside and Bakersfield drag races.

Did the hemi catch him on the top end?
No, Google tells us that the Fiat won the Winternationals in ‘63 and ‘64.
