i was wondering if there is any way i can convert my model a front brakes from 5x5.5 to 5x4.5 inch bolt pattern? i want to keep the front end drum but i dont want to have to run the old rims. just wondering if there are any other brake setups that will work on early ford spindles.

The easiest and cheapest way to do this is with wheel adaptors...5 on 5 1/2 to 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. They will extend the wheel out about 1 inch, but are inexpensive. Speedway probably sells them.

Well, what rims do you want to run? Late model Ford full size pickups are 5 on 5.5" until the late 80s-early 90s.
Depending on what spindles you have, as in 37-41 or 42-48, there are beaucoups of disc brake conversions, but none for 28-31, 32-34, 35-36 spindles.
