So, I have a hot heads/wilcap adapter to adapt the early ford trans to my dodge 325 hemi. It says to run the starter plate flipped around, so the starter will be on the p***enger side, which is what I want. The problem is the machined part of the starter hole ends up facing the bellhousing. Then there is no way to index the starter and you can move it around alot in the casting. Is there anyone who has used this setup that can tell me what I am missing? Do you have to weld the hole in the casting and machine it out for the starter? It is a hotheads 25002 adapter and a 161344 starter plate-3/4" thick. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Give Patrick at Wilcap a call since he makes them for his business and Hot Hemi Heads also. A very knowledgeable and nice guy.

A hemi against an early Ford transmission will result in a loud expensive noise

I am running this and a short adapter to a muncie 4 speed, so I can use the stock pedals in my 34 p.u.
