I really miss that old, completely manual SLR camera that I used to take those pictures. The camera that I have now is nice, automatic and I suck with it.

Thanks for the compliments. I really appreciate it.

Hot Rodding in the Year 2058
The '32 Deuce is now 126 years old. Automobiles have been around
for over 150 years. Perhaps with medical miracles, I will be 110.

Petroleum products will be looked back on in the same way we now
look back on whale oil which lit our way. The HAMB just became an
internet senior citizen. Hot rodding will likely be looked back on, fondly
by many, as a quaint activity of those who struck out for creativity and speed.

The whizz and whurr of 2058's cold fusion powered,
regenerative electrical dynamos on wheels, streak silently through the night.
Will there still be those who want something different, more unique and quicker?
Who knows? This brings to mind an old saying that goes something like this.
Be glad for today because tomorrow won't be just another yesterday.
Never doubt that it can all change in the blink of an eye.

All of this bloviating comes from my musings on the image you see before you.
I didn't intend to draw a car or anything in particular. This was supposed to be
a loosening up exercise. A doodle... but then... it had wheels. Looking deep
into the thing made me wonder about the future, the past and the present.

    Whizzzzz.

Gary- Who knew the Jetsons stood a chance to have such a cool looking vehicle?! About this time, ol' George's boy Elroy has grown up, gotten his engineering degree and has banded together with a bunch of Chrysler guys to form the newest incarnation of the Ramchargers. A white version with red candy stripes along the roof and maybe a twice blown flux capacitor sticking out of the hood...er, uh whatever you call it.

Very cool, man. I am diggin' it.

Thanks for the kind words ToddJ:)

I just finished this stencil and spray-painted skate deck yesterday for a "skatepark" charity art show in Atlanta, Georgia.

here's more info on the artshow/sk8park charity...

"The Grind 2.0 is the sequel to the highly successful art exhibit to support the Swift Cantrell Skatepark in metro-Atlanta. The new show will feature skateboard decks painted by some of today's most prominent underground artists. The exhibit/auction will be held at The Rabbit Hole in Atlanta on October 10. An online gallery will be up two weeks prior to the opening and allow for viewing and bidding. So you don't need to be at the opening to buy a deck".

    their website... http://www.therabbitholegallery.com/current.html

thanks for the continued support everyone,

John, these photos of yours are absolutely mesmerizing! The stark crispness of the vehicle juxtaposed against the undeniably rapid movement of the surroundings really grabs me and I'm reluctant to look away. Really very, very well done and so damned cool....!!!

    Thanks for sharing them!

  17. Great work! I know a lot of people feel that Peter Max was a sellout, but if that was the case he was one of the most talented sellouts ever! Saw him on one of the late night shows(maybe Steve Allen) MANY years ago and watched him(with my mouth hanging open)take two magic markers and starting from the center draw a perfectly symmetrical design working outward and never lifting the markers from the surface.Impressed the hell out of me.

I also came across one of his poster books at a yard sale awhile back and scored it(intact) for $10.

of course man, taking credit for someones work is b*tch sh*t. i just want to share some of the gnarley art that I've encountered over the years. some of the artists I know, some of them I don't. but I believe that they won't care if I shared their art with other people.

I just meet this cool dude today at a friends hot rod garage. It is always a pleasure to meet a forum member when you least expect it. I also really like his art deco bus.....
