Early hemi’s where painted a sort of bronze brown colour does anyone know the paint code or supplier of it (I’m in the Uk) I thought Eastwood or frost used to sell it but not anymore it seems.
Aluminum with black bolt ons on a 1953 & 55. Golden bronze was a popular color for engine builders in the 60s.
My untouched standard "56" 354 is all silver, the high performance model that year was silver with gold valve covers.
That photo is slightly off color. It should look more silver than bronze. Silver does get a yellowish-brown tint after a while. Maybe your did.

Many years ago I had a stock, original, unmolested '51 New Yorker and later a '53 NewYorker, both were silver. Same for the '55 and '56 NY 331/354 hemis I acquired in the past ten years or so directly from the vehicles they were installed in when new. Ray
The two Desoto engines I had (276 and 330) were also the silver colour, and they were Canadian ones. I'm mentioning this because you are in the mother country. There are sometimes differences between the US and Canadian versions of cars, and Canada generally supplied cars to the Commonwealth.
