Cool! Looks to be 4.255 from the tip to the flat that sits on the block. I can extend or shorten the shaft as needed. Send me a PM and let me know what you want for it. Thanks!

SO....... what does the drive in your Hot Heads oil pump look like after 5 years? Is it still there?

I'd heard rumors that his adapter shafts weren't hardend and now I know that's a fact.

Fortunately, I had the bottom end apart to freshen things up and this is what I found.

The 340 oil pump drive is hex-shaped. Hot Heads replaces the drive shaft with one they manufacture themselves and they wear out.

I've been building my own hemis and running up the mileage for nearly 50 years and I've NEVER seen this happen to a stock pump.

I think I'll switch back to a stocker.

Yep!! That ****s, BIG TIME! THIS is THEEEEE reason I've been trying to worn people about doing the conversion.

The stock pumps work just fine. No need to switch.

Sorry about your troubles! And people always ask me why I don't recommend Hot Heads very often...

Does HH replace the shaft in the oil pump? All this time I thought the problem was with the replacement int shaft. Seems like this is "oil system" not "Ignition".

I had major issues with the HH oil pump..The shaft fractured in half. I got a new one,(had to pay for it) from HH. I took both the fractured and new one to a machinist and was told that the taper in the shaft was not radius-ed it was 90 degree angle. I had the shaft radius-ed and try to install it..I again had issues, the sleeve was binding the shaft and it took hours to file and sand to free up the shaft, I finaly the shaft would turn free and smooth..I gave HH all the pictures and info and never received a refund or appreciation on the info I shared with them..
    Look at the picturs..
