    Hello all,
I have several sets of early Hemi rockers. I have looked around the internet and found that dodge, DeSoto, and Chrysler rockers are not interchangeable. I have three sets loose currently, one I measured and matched the firepower length perfectly, at 19 5/16, but those ****ers came right off a 331. I measured the other four, the two adjustable ones were 17 13/16, while the last set came in at 18 5/16, as well as 18 11/16. This was strange to me, because on another forum I found the lengths are supposed to be a tad bit shorter. The gentleman I bought my first two engines from and the extra set of adjustable rockers from had a red ram and two DeSoto's. Is it possible that rather than firepower rockers I grabbed red ram and Firedome rockers?

Also other than length of the rocker ***embly how else would I identify them? I didn't notice any numbers but they are a little dusty. If there was any identification stamping where would it possibly be?

Based off the weird lengths, and since I am running a 354 firepower I don't need the adjustable rockers, and so what do you all think they would be worth, if they are even desirable?

    Thanks
    Oliver

My understanding is there are three basic early hemi’s and I’ll list them in order of size. Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler.
Crankcases and heads will interchange between brands but not between companies. Those rockers fit your 354 because the 331,354 and 392 are in the same family.
Also be aware when buying a camshaft, the 331 and 354 have the same deck height but the 392 is raised. The lifter angle is different and a 392 cam will not work in your 354. If you bought a cam from a third party and not the manufacturer you should verify the timing events on cyl. 1 and then do the same on no. 6, if they do not match you have a cam for a 392.
The rocker ***emblies measure Dodge, 17 3/16, DeSoto, 18 5/16 and Chrysler 19 5/16 per The Complete Chrysler Hemi, a book by Ron Ceridono.

The marine and industrial adjustable rockers used to be a hot item with racers. You should be able to trade one adjustable rocker for three standard.

Yes I have heard that the marine and industrial ones are desirable. I've seen one at a swap meet, nice looking engine, the reason I could tell was because of the dimples on the valve covers. My adjustable ones are longer than the dodge rockers but shorter than DeSoto, so I'm not sure what they are. I presume the marine and industrial rockers are the same size as the firepower rockers? Couldn't my rocker length differing be because the rocker arms themselves have slipped out of their place?

    Thanks
    Oliver

    Engine cubic inch by brand
    Chrysler. 331...354...392
    Desoto 276...330...341...345
    Dodge 241...270...315...325
I don't know if any of the DeSoto or Dodge rocker shafts were different for each engine size or if the heads remained constant and only the bore changed in the block
    Those are the automotive ones.

There is a 291 inch DeSoto between the 276 , and 330 cu in versions .
276 and 291 are low deck engines,,.,330 and up are tall deck engines.
