Hello. I have a early 331 Hemi with the extended bell. Looking for auto trans adapters for this. Would like to mate it to a Torqueflite trans. Looks like nobody manufactures a adapter for this anymore. Open to other ideas too. Any used adapters available anywhere before I fab my own? Thanks for your time here. Bob

Bob I don’t have one for a automatic but do have one for a early ford ,packard and Lasalle sticks
I believe they cut the automatic transmission bell off and modify the housing but haven’t seen one of them adapters in a long time

There are a number of HAMB threads that address this very question, you might want to check them out. (I found those threads by doing a quick internet search for "early 331 Hemi to Torqueflight adapter", for me it was easier than using the search function on this website)

Definitely want to check out the Hemi index on this sight. There’s a ton of info. And hot heads look like they don’t have the long bell adapter in stock but there great people and it would be worth a phone call.

This is @77rr website who is also a great guy to deal with. If you get to the Hemi index here you will notice his contributions to the info.

Hey guys, many thanks for the nod.
The extended bell creates a number of issues for adapting any auto trans but the TF is problematic as mentioned as you need to cut the bell off and then mount the unit from the front pump bolts...not ideal.
One of my long(er) term projects is adapting the Ford C4. Removeable bell, tons of aftermarket support and still plenty to be found. About halfway to finish.

Oh Wow. Thanks for all the replies. Searching early hemi extended bell adapters I get many hits but I am at least 10 to 20 years too late. I am in process of running some leads now. If I can't find one I can just end up making it. It is just time and effort I was trying to save. I'll keep you posted.
Again thank you for all your time! Bob

Hello continentaljohn. Does your adapter fit a 331 extended bell hemi or the regular 354 and 392 type hemis? I saw extended housings cut off the engine block with a adapter mounted to that block. Not sure if I want to go that way as of yet. Just curious how your adapter looks. Thanks Bob
