One of the very early Hot Rod magizines had a picture of 4 guys in a tub taken at the lakes or Bonneville on the cover. Does anyone have a copy of that cover or know the date of the mag? I'm and old guy with a fading memory so it may have been a picture on the inside fold out but I really think it was on the cover back when they were black and white.

I don't have it but someone here might.

Just curious, are you or someone you know in the tub?
Any idea what year or month the mag was?

What's "early" ? Can you give us a little narrower time frame?

From what I remember reading , that tub is still in the original owners family. The mans name escapes me at the moment. Neat car.

  9. Tom "Red" Hynes T touring. It was powered by a SOHC A banger. Later it was updated with the V8-60. Even though it was on the cover of March '50 it wasn't featured until July '50.

Bingo, Thats the one. I was 9 years old and thought that was the coolest car I ever saw. I once had all the early Hot Rod magazines but my grandmother found them and trashed them cause she thought the hot rodders were hoodlums and I should pursue other interests. Now I will keep looking for that issue. Thanks
