@rusty1 Thanks, Sam. The Pileup was always guaranteed to be a blast. In some ways, it feels like it was longer ago, even hot rod builds seemed to have evolved/changed in some ways since then. The Pileup had it's own soul and vibe that was unique unto itself and I feel fortunate to have attended so many.

Hey, thanks also for getting me in touch with the Meltdown Drags. They hooked me up with the decals I was looking for!

I have these shirts hanging in the closet. The childs shirt was only worn twice, my son wore it once and my daughter wore it once. The 2 adult shirts have never been worn; I purchased these at the show and they've been hanging ever since.

If you look close, you see me in my MFS debut drunkenly stopping the coffin car.

Hey TJ, thanks for posting. I was there that year too. The white "A" coupe was probably one of my favorites. The more I looked at it the more convinced I was that it was a genuine unmolested survivor. Somebody who knew the car later confirmed that on another thread somewhere.

These guys were good! They weren't selling cd's that I knew about or I would have bought one. Did some online searching for "Baron Von Otto Matic" but have come up short. I think somebody said they were out of the Des Moines area?? A surf band from Iowa!! :D

  13. ...that coupe on the first shirt Speed-on posted was built by Larry Judkins from Elgin, Illinois ...on the cheap, but sure didn't look it, very nice car, should be the HAMB mascot...

Thanx man. I'd love to get a ride in that thing. Maybe if I live long enough to put my nailhead T together I can have something similar. Unfortunately there's another project, 2dr A sedan, ahead of it that I'll probably never get finished.

Thanks for the pics guys. There's a few cars in the pics that have for sale signs on them, I only wish they were still for sale now.
