I've got a customer that's got out early olds that his dad had built sometime back and never fired it up. It's got some good parts on it as you can see from the pictures. The numbers on the bellhousing aren't coming up anywhere on the internet that I can find and the heads have a number 20 on them. I know the speed parts are worth some bucks and he also has a roadster that it came out of that I'm interested in getting also but I'm good with the price on that. Thanks for any info on the motor. Number 20 three bolt center exhaust port makes the heads early 394, there should be a stamped number on one of the heads at center exhaust port to pin the year down.
Block may be earlier, if it were a 394 it would have 4-1/8 cast at top of block extension, or a number 4 for second series 371.
It may be a first series 371 block?

Definitely looking like the later 371 or 394 perhaps with the earlier block I'll know later today. I'm going to meet them at 10 at their house and see what other Treasures they have. The son and wife remember the dad saying he wanted 10 grand for the motor parts and car but they said they want to make a deal and make an offer it's got to go so we shall see what happens. From the cool stuff in the pictures perhaps they have some other cool stuff hidden that they don't even know about as they have no clue about this stuff. I'm really more interested in the Roadster but we'll see how rough it is as I can see it's cut up a little bit and what looks to be on a Model A frame but it does have a nice-looking v860 axle out front, center steer, and hopefully hallibrands and a quickchange haha!

An update, I ended up buying the car and the motor and everything else that went with the car for a good price. Going to start another thread on the car 20211124_123607.jpg
