You shouldn't be banned for having a personal opinion. While they are certainly not my thing, I can't appreciate the time, thought, and engineering that goes into doing one of these right. The unfortunate thing is that very few of them are done correctly or safely. We have had several incidents in my area where a piss-poor built minitruck has killed someone, now they are talking legislation to ban altering vehicles beyond certain parameters.

Great pics in this thread, by the way! Love em!!

I was just kiddin, im a 1st line promoter of "liking anything i like" w/out having to worry if its traditional or whatever else.
I agree on your thought 100%. Some minis are as right as a well built kustom, just from another era.
Poor built cars are always a downside of this hobby,
being them stupidly built minis, rat rods or ricers.
    Nuff said....excuse me for hijacking:D

Oh by the way, im liking this random Winfield junkyard stuff,
Its must be a blast to have a ton of cool as hell customs, a yard
of useful old cars and as many ufos spread all over the place......
    keep'em coming.

Thanks for the pics of Winfields backlot. I've seen pics before but it looks like he's gathered some more stuff since then. One of these trips to CA I'm going to have to make it out there.

  5. There was certainly some oddball stuff in the back 40. It was a blast walking around back there. It makes me feel better about my backyard, lol.

The WTF? Award went to this thing:

Don't worry, he made it out of fiberglass, and he made a mold. So you can have one too, thank goodness for that.

This thing was pretty cool. The workmanship was good, and the engineering was good to. He drove it there, which is better than some people.

that caddy-elcamino deal is cool, i missed that one

iirc, gene had something to do with that company in the 70's , traditional coach, i think it was. they made station wagons, and elcaminos out of brand new caddys. freinds worked there, and said it was a trip running a panel ripper down the side of a new caddy. they were popular at the time, i think evil kneivel bought one

  8. Gene was involved in building those.. There were a few styles.. The one pictured has a golf bag door.. some don't.. Some don't have the quarter window.. I cruised that thing around for a while when Gene got it.. In one afternoon I was advised by several experts that it was a rare factory cadi-truck.. It was a flower car.. It was custom built for Elvis.. and a few others.. It was kind of fun..
