can you put a little deal up in the forum area with a listing of all the HAMB Alliance vendors? like the HAMB 'O DEX....but just the vendors.. i need a front end for my coupe, but i cant find the list of vendors... thanks.
The tag, "coupon book", the title....those are all benifits. Just being able to have this place on the net is worth donating $50 to me. If you stop and think of all the info, parts deals, and just pure 'wasting your time' entertainment you get off the HAMB it is worth it. Plus after going to the HAMB drags the past two years, it is by far the best thing you can do with rods on the planet! I would pay $50 just to go for that. So my thoughts are I dig it. Yea. it would be nice to have something Vendors could check to make sure people arent' funnin'... Maybe they could click on a "HAMB Alliance" page on the HAMB and see names... or a card with a # on it... Sam.

I love the HAMB and Ryan, you are at the top in terms of capability of running a web forum. You have “it”. There is little doubt that having to pay, even if only promoted through peer pressure, will change the HAMB. A “not for profit” HAMB is different than a “for profit” HAMB. The change will be good for some and not for others. If there are perceived benefits for me, I will pay the $50. For now, I am going to wait and see. I want (not need), the HAMB to spread the gospel. I kept meaning to send in a donation... the Alliance was the kick in the ass I needed to pony up. $50.00 pales in comparison to the value I have found here. Ryan is my new hero!
I first off want to thank you Ryan for all the thought and setting up it took to get this started. I personly love the idea of helping out the HAMB. Its helped me out more than I can even discribe with the build up of my car and I am forever thankfull. So paying for the two tags was a no-brainer.
And on the 8th day God created the HAMB. Ryan, you are GOD to all of us here to have this awesome site that we all look forward to whether it be after a long day at work or after the weekend to see what all has gone on around the states and pics for us that could not be at certain events. Getting mine very, very soon! KNUX!
Sorry fellas, the title thing is going to happen as I need it for my records... AND I like the idea that people are recognized for helping me. Those of you that think differently, would be on the opposite side of the fence if you were me I think... I owe a lot people much more than just a title. This is just a start. As for vendors, they do have a way to check membership in the alliance. How else would I do this if they did not? We are actively checking for membership on every purchase made with the alliance name. This is, obviously, a very important feature that we have worked hard on. Finally, the H.A.M.B isn't any where near making a profit and won't be for quite some time. It's hard to rationalize the expense of this place when you not only consider server costs, but my time as well. Even at a discounted rate, I am losing money heavily. Thanfully and due to a lot of very generous HAMBers, I am no longer paying expenses out of my pocket. That is huge. All that said and most importantly, the HAMB is not and will never be soley about money. The very essence of that goes against my being and my reasoning... Hell, it even goes against my business model. Those of you that have been around for a while and know my ways, know what I am getting at... Put simply, if you think the Alliance will change the HAMB in any concievable negative way... well, you are wrong... It might change YOU, but it will only do good for this joint as in the long-run it is certain to make this place a whole lot better. More later... The point? The HAMB is free and will continue to be so. We built this place to be free and it still is after ten years of service and incredible sacrifice from a bunch of folks. It is this basic principle of "giving back" that has made TJJ.com the largest and most heavily trafficed hot rod web site in the world. The Alliance is taking that power that YOU GUYS created and letting it work for you by way of VERY significant group discounts. The bonus is that if you guys don't want it... You don't have to have it... Everybody wins.
It seems like a good enough deal for those wishing to take advantage of it...if you intend to purchase parts/ervices from the named vendors, then it's a way to possibly end up SAVING some money in the long run, and you get a nifty novelty firewall tag to boot! Otherwise, the HAMB is still free, and gives you the same great benefits you've ALWAYS found here, so no need to sweat it! It's just one more service, or feature being offered should you elect to choose it. Nobody's MAKING you cough up the dough...it's all optional peaople...so it seems cool to me!

Will this change posting rules, tech articles, or anything about the board. Sounds like the only 2 changes we alliance members should see are 1. new Title under your name 2. Quick question about yearly tags, I think I read somewhere where you said they would be different each year. Will the shape of the tag change? I want to put mine on my dash, so when I re-new in a year, will the mounting holes be in the same place?
Just looked at the list. I don't buy many new parts but I did send Mike @ Vintage Ignition a dizzy awhile back and he's on the list! Looks like I'll be sendin' my $50 sooner than I thought!!
It's hard to believe that some wouldn't or hasn't gotten more than 50.00 value / knowledge from the HAMB, hell that's only the cost 6 magazines anymore, I can't imagine that with everything there is to read, and as a place to ask Q's, that it hasn't saved everyone from buying more than 50.00 worth of wrong parts, or making a 50.00 or 500.00 or more mistake, getting a deal on the classifieds for 50.00 better than that auction site, etc.,etc. I'll be sending mine asap, as said above, really just as appreciation, (well, and the tag ), although the discounts will be a neat by-product. What a cool idea, and I get a feeling these buisnesses will get super loyalty from acknowledging us here. .
Vendor discounts could take as long as 30 days to go into effect after you get your membership. With some vendors, your discount will go in effect immediately... It just depends on which of our resources the vendor is using to be notified of new members into the alliance. Again, the functionality of the hamb hasn't changed at all... No new forums, no new rules, no new nothing... This is an opt in only deal reserved just for the folks that want it. Tags. They will most likely only change in color every year... The first year is black... cuz well, I like black!

I see a lot of discussion about "coupon book".....will it be where the discounts are a limited amount or limited amount of times ? Like "this coupon entitles you to one 10% discount of up to a $500.00 purchase once a year" , or is it just a flat percentage for all year, even if you spend 20K with said buisness and buy 20 different times ? Also, I hate to open this can of worms, but what's the possibility oif changing our screen name before joining ? .
Me neither, I LIKE being a grenade inspector !! I just had a hand carved sign made that I hung on the mail box & have been inspecting grenades for the entire neighborhood.
