About 15 years ago I sold some Deuce Roadster pieces to a guy in Walpool (sp?) Mass.,.. Some years later (like 3 or 4) he came back and bought this rough Deuce 3/W body that I had found in the weeds behind a guys house ,... After I bought it and hauled it home, a nice Deuce 5/W body came up,.. So I agreed to sell this one,... Just curious if any of you east coast guys know what ever became of it? It sat in the weeds for many years,.. was chopped way before the guy I got it from ever owned it,..... So do you know what became of it ? do you own it ? does anybody know or care ? was it cut up for pieces ? Inquiring minds want to know,..... This is how I originally found it,... And after I dug, chopped and chain sawed it out,........ Literally
Nobody knows eh ? ,... I was going through some old pictures that I had scanned to a disc on my old computer a few years ago and came across these,... just got me to wondering,.. sure it's savable now,... But back then, it was rough, and panels were way hard to come across. Common you east coast guys,.... somebody must remember this thing.
I lived near the Mass line for years, and I never saw it at the swaps, etc 15 years ago would make it a borderline save, vs parting it out. 25 or 30 years ago, it would have been cut up for sure. I did hear of a pieced out one at Hershey a very few years ago from a Mass vendor, but that means nothing...a lot of 32's were/are around southern New England. I bought one (3w) out of Mass around 1980, and resold it a year later back to Mass, and I just found out that the car was saved and close to being finished.
You might try getting in touch with Dave Simard in Mass.I don't have his contact info but I bet Dennis O'Brien would have it.Dave probably knows where it is or what happened to it;he has a pretty fair collection of 32's himself.
Roy Idman of Walpole Mass has dealt for many years in 32 parts and bodies. He may have bought it and sold it to someone else as I do not think he has a 3 window these days. I think his number is in the phone listings and Dave Simard knows him. He regularly hauls old parts and bodies across the whole U.S.
I'l bet it is someones AVITAR here on the HAMB. The photo I'm thinking of has a hood mocked up on it, still in rust and light yellow/cream paint.
Look at the white coupe in the first pic here...long shot but the chop looks close... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=495807
I'm 99% sure this is the same body Roy sold to Dave Simard. Dave turned it into a roller and sold it to Fred Farrah. Fred passed away 2-3 years ago, so where it ended up is unknown to me. Could still be sitting out behind the fence with a tarp on it.
