Not 100% sure if im on the right forum for this topic, but my question is are there any clubs locally to me that are focused on cars like my 49, like customs, with air ride and traditional type builds? id like to find guys into the same stuff when im at shows. I live near Pigeon Forge and would love to have some guys to chill with during those shows that have the same type of stuff. Thanks for any info guys n gals!
Hard Times Street Rods mostly in the Newport area. Don't know how active they are any more, but they still put on the Moonshine Show each June at the City Park. I think there are some folks over around Dandridge (Greezy Hubcaps)? and I'm sure there's some activity down around Knoxville. Morristown used to have a pretty good contingent of hot-rodders and up in the tri-cities area (Johnson City) as well.
It's been my experience that, unless they're run very well and limited to a very tight group of like-minded friends, most car clubs just end up full of a bunch of people you'd rather not hang around. I've never been a part of one that didn't just totally suck. Wish the Poorboys-Nashville were closer. They seem to have it figured out. JH
