I've ordered tools from Eastwood a few times. Every time I've sent them back. They look great in the catalog, but they aren't all that great when you get them.

    from Yakima WA.

Williams Low Buck Tools has a good USA built shrinker/stretcher for $299.

Harbor Freight usually has their beadrollers on sale for under $100. Here and on metalmeet.com you should be able to find info on modifying these to make them more usable.

  7. my wife bought me the shrinker/stretcher for christmas last year
    they work fine
make sure you get a table or make a table that is real short or you will kill your arms trying to use them

the shrinker stretcher is a quality tool. I got just one and change dies when I need to go from shrinking to stretching. they swap out easily, and I have found I rarely need to do both on the same project.

don't know about the bead roller... I do know the harbor freight one is junk. weak backbone and shitty dies. bought one and took it back the next day

Yea I cant agree more, Eastwood has some great tools but are very overpriced. I used them alot until my grandfather gave me a Harbor Freights catalog. Also some Eastwood stuff like said on here before dosent look like it does in the book, kind of like they show you the good stuff but send the cheap. Harbor Frieghts or E-Gay I have to say......................

Try www.toolsplus1.com. Their bead roller is the best. The wheel works much better than the crank, and the frame looks stronger than the cast one at Eastwood. (I also bough the HF bead roller first, and soon replaced it with the Tools Plus one -- it's SO much better.)

The same shrinker / stretcher combo is $289 (I think) from Tools Plus, which is quite a bit cheaper than Eastwood.

The Bead Roller is pricey...Go HF and beef it up...The Stretcher/Shirnker is pretty good. I'm very happy with mine. Get the stand
