Technical Easy way to remove beauty rings

Good Morning,
I've a 1940 ford coupe .
I'd like to remove the stamped beauty rings from my wheels.
Bars are not stainless,
I tried using the nylon trim tools, I tried using a large wide blade screwdriver, end wrapped in duct tape. Still some damage to beauty rings.
Other solutions ?

Something I learned, do your best to avoid the area where the valve stem hole is. The ring is weak in this area and deforms before you're very eyes! Good Luck.
