Ha all, there are two Chevy COE R/side front fenders on Ebay @ buy it now (real cheap). Seller name ( happymom2three ) They are listed for 1941 to 1946 trucks, but they are clearly COE truck fenders. They look like my 1939 fender, does any one know if Chevy COE's used the same fender from 1939 through 46? I know the headlights & grill are different, but looking at truck photos, they sure look the same???
Looking at google images, 41-46 appears to have a straight (with the frame) mounting surface and the 39 has a tapered mounting surface, (fender wider in front) plus the different way the lights mount. They look different to me.
41 -46 are the same Chevy and GMC except headlight , grills and military. Some of the running boards are also different .im no expert on them but this is what I've found . Also hood locks on diesel and gas different on GMC .
Yea, I see what you mean about the mounting edge more in-line with the frame rails. It looks like the grill cowl on 39's are narrower & the fender tappers in to match up. Headlights are definitely different, but that's an add-on shaped to fit the contour. The headlight mounting holes told me it would be the newer 14/46 fender, but I was hoping... The seller acquired a large collection of COE & other parts, (most are gone now) from a deceased relative. The parts listed on Ebay & more, are also listed on Craigslist. Most are nothing, bell-housings/starters/generators/floor pan pieces/dash parts. They want them all gone or they will go to the s**** yard. .
