AV8s` post got me thinkin`.. I have been on ebay since `99 , and have found the most unbelivable treasures there ( My point of wiew ). I have shared some of it with you , but never relived the url. I hate the idea that a real neat Hot Rod part goes to someone else than a HAMBR , but then again , a Hambr might be just the guy with the higest bid when I found the piece . When it comes to postin` " look at this stupid car fer sale at Ebay "... It might help newbees to learn a bit about who we ( You ) are , and what we aint... but when it comes to the bandwidth.. , let Ryan decide ! Just thinkn`out loud .. Have seen A LOT OF NEAT & CHEAP STUFF ON EBAY go unsold !! At one time , people kept track of my bids & outbid me in the last second , so I have learned my lessons . Just an ex :
I don't see a problem with posting something that we think would be of serious interest to someone here, but the WTF is this? kind of stuff is not necessary.
"but the WTF is this? kind of stuff is not necessary" Don`t you like early Hot Rod History ?? I am not alone on HAMB loving this stuff , so with 3000 mbrs , maybe you should refrase ? Would these Ebay items be of your interest ?
That's not what he meant, I think, Klaz. What he meant is that the posts about the "What the heck is this... (insert one: 4WD Camaro, mauled Mercury, pink schoolbus, beer stein collection, etc...)" are the ridiculous ones and that people do welcome parts and memrobilia that pertain to hot rod history. PS I do kinda like those five spokes, though.
Klazurfer...I agree with you 100%.....we live in a REMOTE area...no leads,no sources....EGay and mailorder keep us connected....I've found many great things there, and VERY helpful reference...sometimes the very fact that an item is up for auction has PROVEN that said item actually EXISTS! "WTF" can sometimes also help add humor to a very hard day, or confirm, with humor, that maybe what I'm working on ain't so bad.... And yes, HISTORY can be found and PRESERVED from egay sometimes, if the stars are right.... Just my opinion....

Peddro jumped on it before I did: classifieds. If you have a post for ebay that's serious, that's where it should be going. I for one don't mind some of the off topic Ebay posts... they are labeled if you don't want to see them, and usually give me a good laugh.
What Donzie said , but I missunderstood , but Bigcheese made me understand ...... If you have been around here for a while , you have seen pix posted that you will never see again . They are sold on ebay & waaaay gone.We used to share stuff found ( Ebay or elswhere ) based on what we knew Hambrs would appreciate . My point is that I & others have found & Shared ebay stuff for fellow Hambrs`entertainment only .Cant see no harm in that ...
Halleluja. There are a lot of posts on his board more stupid than the "hey look on ebay ". My oppinion. I just love eBay. For one reason. Try building a true 40's style Hot rod in Norway without it. I guess I have saved around $5000 in plane tickets for Hersey, same amount in car-rental, 3 weeks of travellingdays when buying some old shit on the ever so hated ebay. And never to forget. I have also gotten priceless help from fellow HAMB'ers when harvesting parts for my roadster. Paul
