I swapped reservors this weekend and the problem is the same. Rear brakes lock up. The flow out of the M/C seems weird when I bench bleed it. The rear flows for a second then the front, then the rear again.

Thanks 97 for sending the note, I also sent them a note on that line.

    Monday Morning
I just had a sales guy call me (John Kinast) making an attempt to help. He doesn't know anything about brakes and wants to be a middle man but I'll take what I can get.

10min later Randy the tech guy called and actually started to help me. He asked me to check the pedal ratio, but seemed willing to replace the M/C if it turns out that is the problem.

It looks like I am being granted a waiver on the membership.

On a side note, I drove the car with the engine tuned up and determined that I really need good brakes because this thing is stupid fast.

    Wish me luck.

Lots of us will be watching the outcome of how you are treated and since at some point this summer you might be cruzn BEHIND Big Olds, I'm watching with very special interest.:D

  3. Well, Ecklers is off the vendor list here until I see that you have this resolved.
Pretty doubtful they will get back on, but you never know.
I've already made the other shops I deal with aware of the issue.
Their return policy is a BAD joke.

    Good luck.

I will be more than happy to chase Big Olds so I can pick up any parts that fall off. :D ;)

  5. Wow, I hope you get all this straightened out.

Regardless of whether or not Ecklers decides to 'sack up' and take care of the situation... they didn't do it right from the beginning.

Even if I owned a Chev, I probably wouldn't want to shop there now.

I've started selling stuff that my buddy manufactures; taken out a banner ad on a mopar bbs and sell on ebay. When I found that there was a customer who had bought from my compe***ion and wasn't satisfied with the product, I contacted him to ask if I could offer some ***istance.

Because I'm a nice guy? Nah, I'm a *****. Just ask my wife...

It's because I want to stand behind the brand I carry; pure and simple. I can't help but think that if you treat people right, you won't be likely to end up the subject of a thread like this.

Ecklers is ALL about the money! I've had problems with their stuff in the past, but this is a new low.

They had a tri5 car show in my hometown about 4 years ago. The cost to enter was $65 bucks, and I paid the dough. Well all of the siminars(sp) I was interseted in were canceled. All I got for my money was a free T-shirt and my car judged. And they charge you an extra $10 bucks if you don't help with judging.

My advice is to use East Coast Chevy, or Danchuk. There are some others I have also used, but Ecklers is a last resort.

it's just sad that it ever had to go to such lengths for something so simple. i think they have seriously tarnished their reputation with this one. good luck to you Tyler.

had my issues with them also, I didnt buy from them because they couldnt provide me with a straight forward answer for my question on a part they were selling..called back and asked for a different person..they knew even less..got the feeling they got a bunch of wanna bees workin there, not a place i would do buisness with due to their policies, behavior, lack of knowledge, incorrect advertising, and total disreguard to the small family of hot rodding, word gets around guys..maybe they will have to get sold again before someone wakes up!! roll over and hit the snooze ****on again loooozers!

  9. Well - I was looking to buy from them some parts for my 49' Chev...but I guess Chevy's of the 40's is going to get more of my business. I won't way $40 to get a simple question answered if I need to.

I'll never buy from them either. I'm building a '55 chevy and ordered one of their catalogs. When I was ordering my front-end parts I priced everything out from them and one of their competing companies. Their prices where better on some items, so I ordered from them. Other parts were ordered from the other companies. Three days later Ecklers calls me to tell me that they can't accept my on-line order because I paid with a credit card!!? It seems they don't accept credit card orders from new customers in Florida. They wanted me to send in payment. I guess they've had trouble with payments? I told them they with business practices like that they wouldnt have to worry about it for long.

I'm glad now that they didn't want my business. I had my parts within three days from another company.

Their tech guy agrees with me that the M/C is probably bad. He is going to
send another one to me today at no charge and I can use their box to send
back the old one, they are paying UPS on both.

Once I got into the tech service loop they seem to have decent service and are willing to work with me, but If I wasn't a squeaky wheel I never would have gotten into the loop in the first place.

Remember the good old days, when brand recognition was
created one customer at a time, with quality parts and good service ?

Now brands are "built" with advertising and product placement.
