Four hundred horsepower from a 214 cubic inch motor is pretty strong stuff, but I'm not sure it would be my first choice for a hot rod.

  10. Great technology for production cars, but I don't know that a V6 anything will be a first choice for any type of ________ rod...Fill in the blank there. I will say it's packaged very nicely...

Very cool power ratings, but I'll never really get excited about the sound of a V6. And sound IS a large part of the experiance of a ________ rod.

    My 2 cents.

It wont change traditional hot rodding. Street rodding maybe. Tuners yes.

Its a cool idea, i dont know why they put it in a 34 ford. A modern engine should not be in a car with hoodsides. They should make an ecoboost v8 and put it in the mustang though.

They did it because hot rods are the "in thing" right now. Which also explains the influx of cobbled together ****, put together by people who follow every new automotive trend, also know as R-- R--S.

Having used a V6 many years ago in a model A I can ***ure you they run pretty good,,but your right,,it ain't your first choice for a hot rod and they don't have the right sound. HRP

I honestly dont see the point. If your looking for fuel economy run an old four or six. Keep with the spirit! This engine belongs in a hopped up yaris or something.

It's just Ford using a rod to show off and promote the engine to real car guys that want v8's to try to convince them they are the next greatest thing since sliced bread.

Like the car. Like the engine.Don't like them together.

    x2,

The 'echo' is ********. A flattie or a banger can be tuned to equal(or better) the Horsepower:emmissions ratio of that motor no matter what the add-ons are.

    Indeed.

Home-brew E96 on carbs, no electronics, no m***-production robotic factory. Otherwise I don't buy the "eco" label.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.....not sayin that I don't believe ya, but I think you're talkin out yer *** here. Put the bottle down or show me the data.

...and I agree that the 34 was the wrong showcase for that engine.

  26. What's so wrong with the car? Is it that it has an "eco" engine in it? That's probably it- the engine must be "gay". Or it's all V6's you don't like? Or because it was built by a car company?

It's GAY because they give it a stupid name like "Eco Boost" and act like it's a NEW idea.

    It's just a turbo V6.

    Nothing "NEW" about it.

  28. Not that you'd care, but it has direct injection.

    Lame.

    Eco ???

If they build a speed demon electric vehicle or a 100% alt fuel vehicle or even a true flex vehicle that can run on nat gas/ethenol/reg gas/ plus have hybird (electric) properties... I would say cool.

This is just a slightly (very slightly) more eco-friendly car with power.

Why not just build the old gas guzzler for speed and power for those who want them and then actually build ECO-freindly cars for the other 80% of the peple who want those.

Give us choice...not buzz words !!

    Lame.
