The ford 250ci oil pan is about an inch from the drag link. Will they hit during driving conditions?

As a former 250ci powered econoline owner... most definitely.

former, meaning you got rid of the 250 or the econoline altogether?

How did you deal with it?

    My wife is from Angola.

I guess I should rephrase that a bit...I don't own the van anymore, I didn't install the engine, but whomever did set it back enough to give adequate clearance. But from experience, you will definitely work that suspension more than 1" during normal driving. You could heat and drop the steering arms a bit and/or use tie rod drops to solve your issue. I don't know if there are other oil pans with different sumps for a 250 or not.
