I found this site looking for pinstriping info. I used to do some of this in the late 50s & early 60s. The last few months I have been getting interested in doing this some more. I have done a few guitars but am having a hard time learning the squirltail brushes. They don't work like the old bristle brushes did. I am getting better but could use some helpful hints. When I found this site, someone was trying to find out where Don Varner grew up. He was really known for painting & pinstriping. In the 50s I ran around with his younger brother(Bruce). I havn't seen him since then. Don lived in Eugene Oregon in an upstairs appartment with his brother. He worked in a lumber mill & his lunch box was pinstriped. I remember the ford PU that he custom painted & striped back then & someone had a pic of it the other day on this site. I now live in Sumpter Oregon & still do some automotive painting in my shop at home. In 1962, I took best paint in the Portland roadster show. I still enjoy doing it.
