    Hello,

Los Angeles does have a lot going on for being a huge city + metropolis. The area is spread out over many different locations and is a fast growing area/city.

(It is always puzzling about the population numbers, but all big metropolitan areas have odd counts.)

Even for a So Cal local being born and with a direct family history going back to the late 20’s/3os, it is a nice location and features, but we would not live in that city. We have to go through the city, sometimes to get to our Northern road trip locations. But if we have to, we like taking the coastal route and bypass all of the craziness and density the city holds.

To point out a couple of things, the L.A. Coliseum is a fabulous place. Our dad went there for the 1932 Olympics. He went there and took us to many college football games and one pro football game. But the odd thing was one pro baseball game played on the far western end of the Coliseum was all we could take. It was just a stadium for sports, specifically, football. There was even days that the So Cal High School Championships were played before a ton of people.

But as sad as the events and history goes, my wife and I went to the Sports Arena for one of the first L.A. Laker basketball games after they moved out here. Our pocketbook took a hit, but we ended up in the rafters, two rows from the top seats. They looked like ants on the wooden court. We also went to a lot of concerts and car shows in the arena. But, that is history as the Sports Arena is now gone.

And, a new venue was built, ready for the next generation of sports activity, like the 2028 Olympics.

Venture out to experience the aura of the Exposition Park and its surrounding history, but be careful and be safe.

Peter Uberoff made the City of Los Angeles work for the 1984 Olympics without building very much at all. Venues were all over LA and OC. Traffic was almost non existent if you didn’t hit the main events at the Coliseum. We went to 4 events and enjoyed them all even tho none were the finals.
No matter what the the City does this time it will be more political and screwed up. In 2028 I’ll be 84 and if I’m here I’ll watch what I want on TV…. usually old cowboy and 40’s movies and MAV TV dirt track racing.
